Custom WordPress installation: default plugins (WPkgr.com)
Do you install WordPress over and over with the same basic WordPress plugins? If so, a cool little tool called WPkgr might be your best friend.
WPkgr allows you to select from any WordPress plugins in the repository that you want downloaded and activated during your WordPress install. After selecting the plugins, you’ll click ‘create pkg’ to download a custom install.php file. Simply add this file to your ‘wp-content’ directory. Then run the WordPress install as usual from ‘wp-admin/install.php’.
The script will automatically download the latest version of your plugins and enable them during installation. Then it deletes the install.php.
If you are always installing the same plugins, you could use this same file every time to speed up the process. It’s a really handy little tool.
